Starlink has been warned by the Indian Department of Telecommunications to obtain a license before offering satellite-based internet services.

However, in order to provide satellite-based services in India. The require license (s) from the Department of Telecommunications is necessary, the ministry said in a statement. And, also according to a press release issue by the Ministry, it has been notice that Starlink has started pre-selling / booking of Satellite-based Starlink internet services in India.

The company has not receive any license / authorization to offer satellite-base internet services that are being book on website.

Accordingly, the government has asked the company to comply with the Indian regulatory framework for rendering satellite-based communication services. And to refrain from booking / rendering satellite internet services in India with immediate effect.
