Nvidia is releasing the new 12GB RTX 2060 to overcome the shortage

From the start of this year, Nvidia promised to release new stock of the old GPU. However, the current generation card is still plague by a shortage of supplies. It is now fulfilling that promise with the release of the new RTX 2060 with 12GB of video RAM – 2060. Which is double what was originally release in 2019. The purpose of the re-release is to provide more affordable options for gamers who may struggle to find affordable cards in the secondary market. Moreover, it is possible that the RTX 2060 was originally chose for the re-release. Because it does not contain the same components as the rumor that it might cause product disruptions for the new hardware.

Nvidia has said that the new 2060 cards should be available from December 7. Although so far no indication of prices has been given. Furthermore, statement to the Verge indicated that the price of new cards would be higher than original release price Rs.349. “It’s a premium version of the RTX 2060 6GB and we expect the price to reflect that,” a spokesman said.

Last but not least, Specs for the new Founders Edition RTX 2060 can be found here. As well as boosted video RAM, the card appears to have some other minor improvements over the 2019 version. Including higher base clock speeds and increased CUDA cores.
