Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced that it will launch its 4G services across India by September 2022. The state-owned telecom company is worth about Rs. 900 crore revenue increase in first year of rollout, reported to Parliament on 1 December.
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan clarified that there was no plan to disinvest BSNL and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), dismissing all rumors. Also read- MIUI 13 Present: New Gallery Icons And Xiaomi Home
According to the audited financial statement, as on September 30, 2021, BSNL’s assets stood at Rs. 1,33,952 crore and MTNL’s assets are worth Rs. 3,556 crore.
According to the financial statement on the netblock of property, plant and equipment and till March 2021 it will be Rs. 89,878 crore and for MTNL Rs. 3,252 crore.
As of September 30, 2021, BSNL has a total of Rs. 85,721 crore and MTNL has a liability of Rs. 30,159 crore.
Last but not least, the government approved revival plans for both BSNL and MTNL, including the administrative allocation of spectrum to provide 4G services through budgetary allocations.
